Swamp repo upgrade process after swamp update
Opened by swampadmin · 4/24/2025
When I do a swamp update, I feel the current process is not giving me enough information:

> swamp update
09:54:33.009 info update swamp updated successfully!
09:54:33.012 info update "20260217.201029.0-sha.67f29849" → "20260303.045025.0-sha.aab4626d"
walterheck in ~/Source/helixiora/internal/swamp-test
> swamp repo upgrade
09:58:49.962 info repo Upgraded swamp repository: "20260214.231009.0" → "20260303.045025.0" (tool:
"claude")
walterheck in ~/Source/helixiora/internal/swamp-test
> swamp repo -t cursor
09:59:05.025 fatal error Error: "Repository already initialized at
/Users/walterheck/Source/helixiora/internal/swamp-test. Use --force to
reinitialize."Questions I'm left with:
- what did swamp update do? Just a new binary? is that global or only for the local repo where I was located? Link to release notes?
- similar for swamp repo upgrade; what did this do, which changes were made?
- I want to be able to use both cursor and claude with this repo. What does force do? What does reinitializing mean?
